To Kill A Mockingbird Character Analysis :: essays research papers
TKAM à à à à à There are numerous individuals in To Kill a Mockingbird that have noteworthy impacts of Scout and Jemââ¬â¢s activities. The two that stood apart intensely to me, be that as it may, were Atticus and Calpurnia. Atticus, being the childrenââ¬â¢s father, tought his children numerous ethical exercises. Calpurnia went about as a mother to Jem and Scout. All through each section these two charactors were making associations that no one but guardians can do. The two of them perpetrated central impact on the kids. Atticus and Calpurnia were both basic charactors in supporting Jem and Scouts activities since they spoke to parental qualities required for achievement throughout everyday life; as does my dad, who shows me things nobody else can. à à à à à Atticus was certainly a significant good example for the two his kids since he was a polite dad. From the earliest starting point of the novel until the end, his children were attempting to do right by him of them. ââ¬Å"I needed you to perceive what genuine mental fortitude is, rather than getting the possibility that fearlessness is a man with a firearm in his handâ⬠(Pg. 116) is only one of the peaceful, persuasive exercises he told his youngsters. One of the numerous thoughts he attempts to clarify to Scout all through the novel is to not pass judgment on individuals, which is the essential clash in the story. ââ¬Å"You never truly comprehend an individual until you consider things from his place of view...Until you move into his skin and stroll around in itâ⬠(Pg. 34) is one more model. Atticus is the key expert in the lives of his two youngsters. He unmistakably perceives their issues, offers them the guidance they need, and lets his kids handle their issues. He is unmistakably there for them everytime they need him. Atticus is an unparelelled charactor in having significant effects upon Scout and Jem. à à à à à Calpurnia, in spite of the fact that not as compelling as Atticus, was a greater amount of an impact toward the start of the novel. She adored Scout and Jem like her own kids. Cal taught them like a mother, and cherished them like a mother also. By taking them to her congregation and disclosing to Scout she could go to her home, she clearly crossed an obstruction from ââ¬Å"housemaidâ⬠to a companion or a watchman. ââ¬Å"Folks donââ¬â¢t like to have someone around knowinââ¬â¢ more than they do. It aggrevates ââ¬Ëemâ⬠(Pg. 128) something she explains to Scout concerning why she talks diverse around dark companions than how she ordinarily talks. This is one of the numerous exercises Scout learned in the book.

Buying a domain name should be your top priority because once you purchase/register it, then you cant edit it. Not only will it be the name that people remember your website for, but it will also be an important part of branding the blog for recurring traffic. The domain you pick will be the first thing visitors will notice about your site, so you need to make it good to entice your visitors into reading the content on your blog.GOING TO START A BLOG? MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER A DOMAIN NAME AS WELL:5 Main Reasons Why You Should Use Custom Domain Name For Your BlogBuying A Domain Name? Things (Keys ) You Should Remember:There are many factors that you should consider before buying a domain, but there are three âgoldenâ rules that you should strive to follow if you want the best possible name for your blog.1st RuleThe first of the golden rules is to make the domain relevant to the content on your website. The amount of people who buy domains unrelated to their niche is astounding, so by incorporating keywords into your domain, you have already given yourself an advantage over the other websites in your niche. As well as that, it lets the reader know what kind of site theyâre visiting before theyâve even clicked the link. We registered MoviesDrop.com for Movies, FoodGravy.com for Food and likewise. So you can make sure the domain has the core keyword about your blogs niche.2nd RuleAnother rule is to make the domain as short as possible. Recurring traffic is a very important part of Blogging, so you need the domain to be as easy to remember as possible. Because of that po int, the shorter the domain, the better. As a rule of thumb, try to never purchase a domain that has more than three words in it. If you can find a one-word domain you should always try and purchase it for two reasons. Firstly, it will be easy to remember for your visitors, and secondly, it will also add a lot of value to your blog, should you choose to sell/flip it.READHow To Setup Custom Domain Name For Tumblr Blogs3rd RuleThe third and final rule is to choose the domain extension wisely. There are many different extensions you can buy, but the advice that all domainers will give is to try and make the extension relevant to the website. For example, if the website is about an organization, then the â.orgâ extension is the best, but if itâs just a general website then â.comâ would be best. Similarly, if your blog or website is aimed at a particular country, it is always advised to register the domain with the countryâs extension. We picked Slashsquare.org for our compan y website and HellBoundBloggers.com for our blog.IF YOU WANT TO REGISTER A SEARCH-FRIENDLY DOMAIN, FOLLOW THESE TIPS:HOW TO: Choose Search Engine Optimized (SEO) Domain NameIn conclusion, a domain is one of the most important parts of any website, and you should consider this when registering one. You can pick a good domain by making sure it is three words or less, relevant to the blogâs niche and has a suitable extension.

10 common fears of a new undergraduate
Youve been accepted to your chosen school and youre about to become an undergraduate studentââ¬âcongratulations! Entering student life is an exciting time but it may also seem a little scary. Youre new to university life, an unfamiliar city, and a whole new world. But dont panic ââ¬â everyone is new at some point. In case you see the beginning of your uni life as a daunting prospect, heres a list of ten things you might be worrying about along with the reasons why you have no reason to worry at all. 1. Will I make friends? Youll quickly realize that everyone is just as new (and as nervous) as you are. Fear not, my friend! Youre not alone.à As a new student at Hult, youll be attending Orientation Week in September. This is a time when Hult welcomes all new incomers, you get to know the school, and meet many new people. Tons of friends are made in this first week so take advantage of this opportunity. Go and talk to peopleââ¬âask where theyre from, learn about their interests, and you might just find that you have something in common. In class, join the class discussions, make an effort to get to know your group members, and soon youll all be friends. In case youre still seeking new friendships, Hult has clubs and societies you can join where youll meet people that share your interests. Get ready to discover new places and embrace the hustle and bustle that life in a city brings. 2. I want to stay close to my family and friends Now that you have your new friends, another concern might enter your mind: will I keep my old ones? Well, that all depends on you. Most friends you will keep and some friendships may become weakened thatââ¬â¢s life. But donââ¬â¢t worry, both friends and family can be contacted easily on Whatsapp, FaceTime, Skype, Facebook, Instagram, etc. In this century, theres no excuse! And of course, theres always an opportunity for them to come and visit you in your chosen city. 3. How will I get around a new city? Get ready to discover new places and embrace the hustle and bustle that life in a city brings. Moving around a city is easier than you might think. You have maps and local apps that will help you get around using public transport and the best routes. Being new to the city, Id recommend traveling in groups during the first couple of months until you feel comfortable enough to go on your ownââ¬âalthough, getting lost is sometimes the best way to get to know a city! The best way of getting better at something is to practice. 4. What if my English isnt good enough? If you worry about your English not being good enough, donââ¬â¢t. If youve been offered a place at Hult, your English has to be good enough. Hult does offer English support to those who need it, if youre feeling like you need some extra support. My tip for you: take advantage of all the language support youll receive and try to speak in English as much as possible to everyone, even if they speak your own language (because someone will). The best way of getting better at something is to practice. 5. Will I cope with the workload? This is something that many people worry about, but its all down to organizing yourself and your workload. One way to make sure you stay on top of everything is to have clear due dates and exam datesââ¬âdont lose track! Have an agenda or schedule where you can organize your workload and stick to a plan. Also, working a little bit every day is much easier and effective than attempting to do it all in one night. Moreover, attend all of your classes and ask for help from your classmates and/or professors if youre struggling with anythingââ¬âtheyll be able to help you get back on track. Its time to feel free responsible, independent, and mature. 6. Will I have enough money? Money makes the world go around. For this reason, looking into financials is important. Living in a new city on your own, you may be tempted to spend your money on many things your new home has to offer. But watch out! Its important that you donââ¬â¢t overspend. Some tips for this is to establish a monthly budgetà to distinguish between needs and treatsââ¬âmaybe get an app to manage your spending. If you want to make some extra money, look for a part-time job (if you are not on a Tier-4 visa) and get that extra cash in your pocket. 7. Ive never lived on my own before Stepping into university also means living on your ownââ¬âno more parents to rely on to look after you every day. Embrace it! Its time to feel free, responsible, independent, and mature. A good choice for first year students is to live in student accommodation. This option provides a protected environment where you can live as independently as you wish. Student accommodation is full of students just like you that are also living on their own for the first time and can support you in this new adventure. But donââ¬â¢t forget, living on your own implies doing your own cleaning and grocery shopping, which leads me to point 8 8. Im not a great cook Well, neither am I. Going to university is a crash-course in cooking (or ordering) food. To make sure that you donââ¬â¢t live on KFC for the whole year, ask your parents or friends for some of their recipes. Ask them to teach you how to cook the basics before you arrive on campus. Trust me, this will save you from expensive bills from having to order food delivery. Once youre settled, you can buy food from a supermarket and bring a healthy lunch with you to campus if you donââ¬â¢t want to fall into the habit of eating and buying fast food. In this regard, try and exercise during the weekââ¬âdoing it with friends is even better! Physical health is essential while you study, so get those cooking skills mastered and find the best place to exercise. 9. Will I be able to continue with my hobbies? Big cities offer many things to see and do, and you shouldnt lose out on your interests because they are what make us unique. In order to prevent this, Hult offers a great variety of clubs and societies that can help you continue your hobbies. If you donââ¬â¢t find one that suits you, you can always establish your own! Make sure you manage your time so you can fit the things you like doing into your schedule. If you practice sports, look into sports clubs in the city before arriving on campus so that you can join them from day one. 10. Will I be able to adjust to student life? Each person adjusts at their own pace, so donââ¬â¢t worry if it takes you longer than others to feel comfortable in your new city. Make sure you talk to staff, faculty, and friends if you ever need any support. Being a student myself, Id say its important to understand from the beginning that youll be immersed within a new culture and a different environment, so donââ¬â¢t expect things to be the same as at home. Find what makes you comfortable and go from there. With this, your things to worry about list should be almost empty with perhaps one last concern: how to make the most out of your freshman year. Simply: give 120% in class, join as many clubs and societies as you like, attend events on campus, make friends from all over the world, discover the city, have fun, and be as open minded as you possibly can be. Get excited about this new chapterââ¬âyoull be just fine. Reflection Paper On The Hunting Ground - 846 Words
The Hunting Ground Film Reflection Paper Lucas Segura PHLS 301 10/6/2017 The Hunting Ground documentary is about the existence and prevalence of sexual assault culture in many colleges and universities. The issues surrounding the rape culture in universities is, they are not taking enough action on protecting the students. The film/filmmakers display the reason for the prevalence of sexual assault on American campuses. With the culture of rape in colleges, there also must be a counter-culture, to stop these sexual assaults. It covers many perspectives and stories from those affected by sexual assault and rape during their college careers. To me this was truly a disheartening documentary, my heart hurt for these women and I trulyâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Many people have gone after those involved with the creation of the documentary and those who used it as a platform to tell their stories. The argument is that testimonies of victims are inaccurate and that facts have been misrepresented. However, the filmmakers were adamant about including statistics to support their claims. As someone heading to college that seemed to be one of the scarier sides of the documentary. However, as scary as it is, it is important to stay educated about the subject and have a deep understanding of whats going on behind the cover-up that college administrations have put up. Many high school students are not aware of the reality of the statistics, not because they are naive, rather because of the lack of reporting or the lack of attention given to a case. According to the documentary, one in every five women are sexually assaulted in college, 27.7% of female college seniors have experienced unwanted sex, and as of today, 11.5% enrolled students have been raped. If this matter is not taken more seriously, 100,000 students will be sexually assaulted in the next academic year. These are critical statistics because most students probably believe that it will never be them. However, this is proof that it can be anyone, no matter who it is, it is the thing that you will expect the least. As a senior, college administrations have been my go-to for the past couple months. Myths About Obama - The 5 Wackiest Myths About Obama
If you believe everything you read in your email inbox, Barack Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya who is ineligible to serve as U.S. president and he even charters private jets at taxpayer expense so the family dog Bo can go on vacation in luxury. And then there is the truth. No other modern president, it seems, has been the subject of so many outrageous and malicious fabrications. The myths about Obama live on through the years, mostly in chain emails forwarded endlessly across the Internet, despite being debunked over and over again. Here is a look at five of the silliest myths about Obama: 1. Obama is Muslim. False. He is a Christian. Obama was baptized at Chicagos Trinity United Church of Christ in 1988. And he has spoken and written often about his faith in Christ. Rich, poor, sinner, saved, you needed to embrace Christ precisely because you had sins to wash away - because you were human, he wrote in his memoir, The Audacity of Hope. ... Kneeling beneath that cross on the South Side of Chicago, I felt Gods spirit beckoning me. I submitted myself to His will, and dedicated myself to discovering His truth, Obama wrote. And yet nearly one in five Americans - 18 percent - believe Obama is a Muslim, according to an August 2010 survey conducted by The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. The are wrong. 2. Obama Nixes National Day of Prayer Numerous widely circulated emails claim President Barack Obama refused to recognize the National Day of Prayer after taking office in January of 2009. Oh Our wonderful president is at it again .... he has cancelled the national day of prayer that is held at the white house every year .... sure glad I wasnt fooled into voting for him! one email begins. Thats false. Obama issued proclamations setting the National Day of Prayer in both 2009 and 2010. We are blessed to live in a Nation that counts freedom of conscience and free exercise of religion among its most fundamental principles, thereby ensuring that all people of goodwill may hold and practice their beliefs according to the dictates of their consciences, Obamas April 2010 proclamation read. Prayer has been a sustaining way for many Americans of diverse faiths to express their most cherished beliefs, and thus we have long deemed it fitting and proper to publicly recognize the importance of prayer on this day across the Nation. 3. Obama Uses Taxpayer Money to Fund Abortions Critics claim that the health care reform law of 2010, or Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, includes provisions that make up the broadest expansion of legalized abortion since Roe v. Wade. The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million in federal tax funds, which weve discovered will pay for insurance plans that cover any legal abortion, Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee, said in a widely circulated statement in July 2010. Wrong again. The Pennsylvania Insurance Department, responding to claims that federal money would fund abortions, issued a stern rebuttal to anti-abortion groups.Pennsylvania will - and has always intended to - comply with the federal ban on abortion funding in the coverage provided through our federally funded high risk pool, the Insurance Department said in a statement. In fact, Obama signed an executive order banning the use of federal money to pay for abortion in the health care reform law on March 24, 2010. If the state and federal governments stick to their words, it does not appear taxpayer money will pay any part of abortions in Pennsylvania or any other state. 4. Obama Was Born in Kenya Numerous conspiracy theories claim that Obama was born in Kenya and not Hawaii, and that because he was not born here he was not eligible to serve as president. The silly rumors grew so loud, however, that Obama released a copy of his certificate of live birth during the presidential campaign in 2007. Smears claiming Barack Obama doesnt have a birth certificate arent actually about that piece of paper - theyre about manipulating people into thinking Barack is not an American citizen, the campaign said. The truth is, Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America. The documents prove he was born in Hawaii. Though some believe the records are phony. 5. Obama Charters Plane for the Family Dog Uh, no. PolitiFact.com, a service of the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, managed to track down the source of this ridiculous myth to a vaguely worded newspaper article in Maine about the first familys vacation in the summer of 2010. The article, about the Obamas visiting Acadia National Park, reported: Arriving in a small jet before the Obamas was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and the presidents personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with Baldacci. Some folks, eager to jump on the president, mistakenly believed that meant the dog got its own personal jet. Yeah, really. As the rest of us toil on the unemployment line, as millions of Americans find their retirement accounts dwindling, their hours at work cut, and their pay scale trimmed, King Barack and Queen Michelle are flying their little doggie, Bo, on his own special jet airplane for his own little vacation adventure, one blogger wrote. The truth? The Obamas and their staffer traveled in two small planes because the runway where they landed was too short to accommodate Air Force One. So one plane carried the family. The other carried the Bo the dog - and lots of other people. The dog did not have its own private jet.

Essay about Civil war - 1306 Words
Causes amp; Results of the Civil War The Civil War, in U.S. history, was a conflict that pitted the Northern states of the American Union against the Southern states. The war raged for 4 years (1861-65) and was marked by some of the fiercest military campaigns of modern history. Large armies were involved in large movements, and entire populations were engaged in supporting the war efforts of both sides. The war had international impact, not only because of the growing international stature of the United States, but also because war threatened world access to the Souths cotton. Britain and France had particular interest in the wars outcome, but other nations were also affected by it. The chief and immediate cause of the war wasâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Very few settled in the South. The South, resisting industrialization, manufactured little. Almost all manufactured goods had to be imported. Southerners therefore opposed high tariffs, or taxes that were placed on imported goods and increased the price of manufactured articles. The manufacturing economy of the North, on the other hand, demanded high tariffs to protect its own products from cheap foreign competition. Before the Civil War, the federal governmentââ¬â¢s chief source of revenue was the tariff. There were few other sources of revenue. The tariff paid for most improvements made by the federal government, such as roads, turnpikes, and canals. To keep tariffs low, the South preferred to do without these improvements. The expanding Northwest Territory, which was made up of the present-day states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and part of Minnesota, was far from the markets for its grain and cattle. It needed such internal improvements for survival, and so supported the Northeastââ¬â¢s demands for high tariffs. In return, the Northeast supported most federally financed improvements in the Northwest Territory. As a result, although both the South and the West were agricultural, the West allied itself with the Northern, rather than the Southern, point of view. Economic needs sharpened sectional differences, and adding to the hostility.
